The Debut: Festival Kickoff Show!

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, May 22nd with ‘The Debut’ the Festival Kick Off Show.  A showcase of our Grassroots Comedy Course program at Mahtay Cafe and Lounge.

Come and enjoy the next generation of Niagara comics as the graduates of the GCCF Intro to Stand Up Comedy Course perform their graduation showcase sets.  The show will be hosted by comedian and instructor Jimmy England and headlined by the legendary performer Larry Smith!

Larry Smith has been in the Canadian entertainment industry for most of his life and he's still going strong, having recently performing his 40th anniversary comedy concert. His unique style of comedy has tickled audiences' funny bones far and wide. Larry is very proud to have shared the stage with Ben Guyatt, Sam Kinison, Gilbert Gottfried, Blue Rodeo and The Northern Pikes; among many other great performers. He is not to be missed!

As always at our Festival Kick Off shows, we will have lots of fun surprises in store as we celebrate comedy in Niagara!

Mahtay Cafe and Lounge is a vibrant part of the St. Catharines downtown entertainment scene and is a fully licensed venue.
